About

Tice is a shortened version of Patricia and pronounced like the French city, Nice. This often comes up since in print this is not easily discernible.

Tice has more than 20 years of experience as a writer, editor and publishing professional. She began her career in the library market at Information Access Company (IAC), quickly earning a supervisory role managing an editorial staff of twenty-three writers and editors. Tice launched IAC’s first foreign language product, Informe, which remains a major Spanish language reference resource.

After IAC, Tice was the Web Producer of the Family Channel at Women.com, a leading Internet destination for women. Tice directed the strategy and product plan for one of the Company’s first full-scale launches, introducing five new subchannels in the first year. During her tenure, Women.com was nominated in the category of “Service Journalism Original to the Web” for its Development Tracker, a year-by-year guide to child development covering all aspects and milestones that affect families.

Later in her career, Tice served as a Search Editor at Yahoo, where she used her editorial expertise in collaboration with the engineering team to improve search algorithms. Tice engaged in multiple extracurricular projects while at the Company, submitting two ideas to Yahoo’s Idea Factory, both of which were accepted for development. Tice also wrote content for search contests directed at middle school students and helped present safe search techniques at school sites.

Most recently, Tice has been a freelance writer for consumer print and online publications with clients that include Yahoo, Disney, About.com, Jorbins, babyzone and more.

In 1999, Tice launched her own product, Baby Draw, the original baby shower charades game, which can be purchased at amazon. Another patented product has twice been a finalist for a licensing deal.

Tice earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in English: Creative Writing from San Francisco State University. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two children.
